One of those days

Token of friendship

I am writing about yesterday and yes it was one of those when you fill touched, surprised, amazed by the fact a friend is there and that friend really remembered you and wished you in the auspicious occasion.Well I am not good with words and expressing my feelings as I am more a technical person (Girls reading this post don’t you worry I am a full on romantic person :P ) but jokes apart, yesterday it was Holi (the festival of colors here in India) I have not played it but a friend really made my Holi special by remembering me and also by a token of friendship.

Well a friend of mine used to say that someone is your true friend when you met that person after ages and then you both just get along and without dragging on the fact that why you both were not in contact/not blaming and asking the other person why you were not maintaining the contact by any means. To me a person gonna be you true friend if at your first met or in your first phone call with him/her you get along very easily and started playing pranks  without any hell lot of introductory speeches.

and who said that you can’t get good and real friends in virtual online world?2009(and also the starting of this year) was a year of getting very good friends for me .Came to know some(not much but yes few) amazing people through Twitter and Facebook and yes they are now my close friends in real life too.

If you read About me in this blog you will come to know I have very few friends and they always played a major role in my life.I know my good old friends are with me and but I also do hope that my few new friends which I got they would be also with me and they would get me whenever they need me.

Wishing you all Happy and Safe Holi.

Thanks for being my friend :)

#SachinIsGod

My College friend Soumyadeep who is a massive football freak used to ask me Why I am not writing anything about Cricket here in Denken that time I told him that I will write but it would require a special moment.Well my close friends and family members know how Cricket freak I am.This my first Cricket post on my blog.Wrote a lot about me/Social networking sites/Tech topics but this is time just could not resist myself to write post about Cricket and about our Little Master SACHIN RAMESH TENDULKAR.Really it took a knock like that caliber from Sachin to get the Cricket side of me on my blog.

If you are regular Tweep then you should know that there is a #Tag for Sachin which is #SachinIsGod and its so true because If Cricket is religion in India then surely #SachinIsGod.

My Tweets:

#MyNameIs Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar and I am the greatest ODI player ever.

All Day I Dream About Sports(Adidas) is the perfect makers name for Sachin’s bat.

Let me tell you why this knock is so special:

1.First ever double hundred in ODI.

2.Highest individual Score in ODI beating previous best of  Charles Conventry’s(Vs Bangladesh) and Saeed Anwar’s(Vs India) 194.

3.He ran through out his innings with out any runner.(Saeed Anwar used runner).

4.It was a perfect innings because no drop catches or no getting out in no balls etc.

5.Innings came against a top quality fielding and blowing side(ICC no 1 Rank bowler is in South Africa’s squad).

Well previously we used to remember Sachin who gave as Titan cup by bowling in the last over, the guy who used to come in Shane Warne’s nightmare, for his destructive innings at Sharjah, the most run getter in world cups but this knock is something special and which will remain in memory forever. It was a true fact that sometimes Sachin failed to come good in final but in recent times he played some match wining innings in finals, most recently his two crucial knocks in final helped us to win VB series, which is to me India’s most important ODI tournament win in last decade. You have to admire Sachin’s everything,Mostly his dedication towards game and his stamina to cop up with pressure. As Ravi Shastri said correctly Sachin is the most Greedy boy in cricket field. You just have to admire how Sachin came back after his Tenis elbow and back injuries(these two injuries almost ended his cricket carrier). At that time of  Tenis elbow Sachin once said that there is power is his elbow so its just that his dedication towards this great game that inspired him to come back with a bang.

Ending this with a hope that Sachin would get his 100th International century very soon and also that the stage:-”2011 world cup  final in his home ground” is all set for him to pick up the trophy for all of us Indian :)

Thanks.

My take on Politics

I know this post going to be very contradictory and controversial one.I am writing at first that I do have respects who have thoughts against my view.Well I have not read any of the mighty books on Indian politics and don’t have any great knowledge about Indian political history but I do believe I have the rights to speak my heart out whatever I know and how this political things shaped out to me till now.

If you go through my Facebook or Orkut profile you will get to know I am not political and I do feel good that I am politically unbiased.I would love to stay politically unbiased in future.I have the voting rights for last five years.I have not given vote a single time.I never influenced others not to give votes but to me giving votes (specially in West Bengal) is like picking up a thief from a bunch thieves. All parties to me are same.I just don’t believe this voting system where you call a party a minority party with no reason.Let me clarify this thing with an example assume there are 4 parties called A B C and D where A and B is the main party and total vote is 10 vote.A got 4 vote and rest of the 3 party got 2 votes each. Now if any of the party from C or D switches(let C in this case) to A then A got the majority.Though D got same votes/same public support as C got,we call D as “minority party”.Is is not fair to me.may be in previous election the party C was with party B.They are switching party in this election just because they wants to have the test of ministry.May be it is the case that public gave them vote because of their earlier stand but you never know with this sort of parties they keep changing their sides. All the parties decisions are subjected to last-minute change. What I am trying to say that this so many parties ideology just I don’t like.I will may consider to give votes when there are only 2 or 3 parties all over the India  which is just a big unlikely thing to happen.

I stopped watching local Bengali TV channels here in West Bengals.Firstly they are biased to a political party or a full-time political channel.Secondly there are no news in those channels except political violation and political killings.Today I was watching a discussion here in a news channel.A politician said there that “My conscience is bigger than my party”.To me its right comment because one just can’t accept everything happening(may be a wrong doing) in party. One should have that freedom to go against what others thinking. But the leader of that party was there to bang him saying that this is not right.Which was truly a ridiculous thing to me.Speaking about the Maoists problem in West Bengal-we do know that Maoists stay in the underdeveloped area.If there is Maoist problem in your state it’s the failure of that state’s government.I am giving you a stat that jointly West Bengal Govt and Our Central Govt spending 25 lakhs(or more) per day to carry out the operation against Maoists and this operation is going on for five or six months. You can imagine how much money has been spent for this operation. If they would have spent this money for the development of that area or if they now spend this amount of money for development of that area like for building hospitals, schools, giving water supply facilities-this Maoist problem wont be there in that place.

Just making the point that-Thoughts in this post are only mine and I have not written this post to influence readers to change their thoughts and I do respect who have views against my views.

All about Denken

Well visitors here and my friends were asking me what is this DENKEN is all about? So I am writing this to let you all know about DENKEN.

The word ‘Denken’ means ‘Thought’ in German. I am aware of the fact that verbs change with respect to noun in German language. ‘I think’ would have been ‘ Ich Denke’ but I never wanted mine to be a stereo typical site where I just post whatever I feel like without giving much attention to what other people might think. I do not want this site to be an one-way traffic. I want to communicate with people through this site. Thats why I selected ‘Denken’ – which is usually used to represent the collective thoughts of a group of people. So I named this site ‘Denken’ to acknowledge the fact that it contains all of our thoughts and not just mine.

Let me clear one thing that I don’t know German language but It’s my Twitter friend Eniyavan Sivaji (@Eniyavan) who is from Chennai and now in Germany doing his masters helped me a great deal to increase my German vocabulary. Thanks to him.

Thanks

Domain Fuss

Well there was a huge fuss in getting this Domain. My friends Nishant and Bastab me told about the sites to buy Domain.I knew that  sites accepts debit card,So first I went with Name.com.After Done with the registration and form fill up for my domain aritrasen.com,I came to payment part where I was not getting any Debit card option. Then I asked my friend Agniva, who have Credit Card.He gave me all the all the credentials of his Credit Card.As some weird thing always happens in this Digital world.I could not buy with those credentials though those credentials were right. Then I tried out to link my debit card or his credit card in my Paypal account, which was a effort gone in vain.

Then I came to godaddy.com where you will get a option to select your country currency,So I thought they would accept Debit card and again in this site I have done the registration and  form fill up and when I came to the payment section in Twitter language you can say this effort as #fail.

In similar way I have tried out other Indian sites also which I can’t remember now and the problem with them was that either they were not accepting Debit Card or charges were too high.

At last I came to Indialinks.com,when I called them they told me at first they accepts Debit card but when I came to the payment section there was no Debit Card option,Then I called them again and they told me to deposit cash in either HDFC/ICICI bank and in the next morning I have deposited the cash and they gave me the Domain  within few hours and that was a huge relief.Trust me  the customer support of indialinks is excellent. The problem is that in every site I have registered with my official email id and my inbox is getting filled with their offers everyday but I guess I can afford this after all this fuss.

Thanks

Are we Unbiased?

The above question is not for electronics transistors. It’s for all of us. Now and then we came across some situations when ours opinion really counts. Do we always stand unbiased in those situations? Do we always support the right option without any biasness? Speaking about biasness first thing comes in mind is ‘Media’. Now-a-days you get to see some private newspapers and TV news channels completely biased to a political party and this is just because, those Media newspapers and channels are getting mighty amount of financial support from respective political parties. We also get to see some people who are supporting a political party for ages. Supporting a political party is not a crime but the problem is that those people just tends to ignore the wrong doings of that political party and supports that party blindly and keep on watching /reading those biased medias. Generally we tend to give support and priority to our kith and kin in different sectors mainly in job sectors. You will see that some people are just a recommendation away to get a job.

Though staying unbiased always does not help others, sometimes we need to get involved into certain situations to support the right person. Few folks do not protest or get involved into the wrong doings just to stay out. They start to ponder about the consequences what is not desirable.

I know that a blog post will not get rid of these things. But we definitely need to get rid of those.

Thanks.

Spare a thought(Denken)

Flag_of_Norway.svgNorway is a country in Northern Europe and majority of its portion shares it border with Sweden, Finland and Russia. Today it ranks as the wealthiest country in the world as a result of large oil deposits.Few days back Some Doctors mainly a group of social workers were in my place. They were here to provide free medical checkups for the distress people. That day I had a conversation with a Norwegian lady. She told me that she was fascinated by the people of India.I was interested to know about her country. She shared a lot about Norway but the most remarkable thing was to me that- School education is free of cost. Everybody has to go school up to 15 years and if they does not go to school parents would be responsible.Let me tell you that it’s a crime in Norway and police will file a report against the parents and this is mainly why the literacy rate in Norway is 100%(In India Currently about 70 million children receive no schooling, and more than a third of the population is illiterate.). She also told me that Norway spends  7.6% of its GDP on education(India spends a little over 3% of its GDP on education).

Yes it’s an abrupt end….

Thanks.
