My take on Politics

Posted on January 11, 2010January 11, 2010 by Aritra Sen

I know this post going to be very contradictory and controversial one.I am writing at first that I do have respects who have thoughts against my view.Well I have not read any of the mighty books on Indian politics and don’t have any great knowledge about Indian political history but I do believe I have the rights to speak my heart out whatever I know and how this political things shaped out to me till now.

If you go through my Facebook or Orkut profile you will get to know I am not political and I do feel good that I am politically unbiased.I would love to stay politically unbiased in future.I have the voting rights for last five years.I have not given vote a single time.I never influenced others not to give votes but to me giving votes (specially in West Bengal) is like picking up a thief from a bunch thieves. All parties to me are same.I just don’t believe this voting system where you call a party a minority party with no reason.Let me clarify this thing with an example assume there are 4 parties called A B C and D where A and B is the main party and total vote is 10 vote.A got 4 vote and rest of the 3 party got 2 votes each. Now if any of the party from C or D switches(let C in this case) to A then A got the majority.Though D got same votes/same public support as C got,we call D as “minority party”.Is is not fair to me.may be in previous election the party C was with party B.They are switching party in this election just because they wants to have the test of ministry.May be it is the case that public gave them vote because of their earlier stand but you never know with this sort of parties they keep changing their sides. All the parties decisions are subjected to last-minute change. What I am trying to say that this so many parties ideology just I don’t like.I will may consider to give votes when there are only 2 or 3 parties all over the India  which is just a big unlikely thing to happen.

I stopped watching local Bengali TV channels here in West Bengals.Firstly they are biased to a political party or a full-time political channel.Secondly there are no news in those channels except political violation and political killings.Today I was watching a discussion here in a news channel.A politician said there that “My conscience is bigger than my party”.To me its right comment because one just can’t accept everything happening(may be a wrong doing) in party. One should have that freedom to go against what others thinking. But the leader of that party was there to bang him saying that this is not right.Which was truly a ridiculous thing to me.Speaking about the Maoists problem in West Bengal-we do know that Maoists stay in the underdeveloped area.If there is Maoist problem in your state it’s the failure of that state’s government.I am giving you a stat that jointly West Bengal Govt and Our Central Govt spending 25 lakhs(or more) per day to carry out the operation against Maoists and this operation is going on for five or six months. You can imagine how much money has been spent for this operation. If they would have spent this money for the development of that area or if they now spend this amount of money for development of that area like for building hospitals, schools, giving water supply facilities-this Maoist problem wont be there in that place.

Just making the point that-Thoughts in this post are only mine and I have not written this post to influence readers to change their thoughts and I do respect who have views against my views.
